Metamorphosis: April Serenade

Thunder as soft as a chicks down

Howling winds as light as a sigh

Everything fading to give room for the

Sound of rain

Ox-eye daisies sway and bend for the drops

Under and down as the volume crescendos

Nettles and vines

Deer and robins

Occupy their shelters

Focusing outside as the

Rain flattens leaves, fills lakes, and floods streams

All at once a break in the storm

Icy sleet gives way to a warm pitter-pat

Now listen, to the sound of rain
